It is with sadness that we share news of the peaceful passing of Francis Owuasu (11th January 1954 – 23rd October 2018), fondly known as Frank.

Frank was founder of the the African Community School, a supplementary school for all nations. He was an active member of the supplementary school development in Hackney and across London.

Frank came to Hackney in 1967 during the height of the Biafran civil war as a political refugee. Outside the school Frank was a full time teacher , having taught at many schools and colleges. Frank was also an active member of the voluntary and community sector.

Frank had a vision for young people and their families. He had a strong belief that pupils can fulfill their purpose and destiny.
