Over the course of 14 weeks join us on a free accredited course that enables you to pick up invaluable English skills helping you operate confidently, effectively and independently in education, work and everyday life.

What are the benefits of the course? What work is involved in gaining the qualification?

This qualification contains one mandatory unit (comprising three components – Reading, Writing and Speaking, Listening and Communicating, all of which must be achieved at the same level).

give learners the opportunity to:

  • Develop an understanding of Functional Skills English at Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3
  • develop their skills and competences in English
  • achieve a nationally recognised qualification
  • prepare for employment

EYE (Early Years Education) Level 3 diploma for the Early Years Workforce

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

The Level 3 diploma requires an A-C GCSE in Maths & English or Level 2 in Functional English & Maths. All applicants must be at least 19 years or over.

We welcome parents and carers from all backgrounds who would like to work on their parenting skills and build positive relationships with their children. We can help you to recognise and respond to the challenges of being a parent and the risks and concerns facing our children. ACS Non-Violence Resistance Parenting Programme (NVR) - Free 12 Week Course

The NVR Parenting sessions will commence face to face at Morningside Community Centre or online from 4th October 2023 and will run for 12 weeks.

You are welcome to join the first session to learn more about the programme and ask any questions.

About the programme ?

This programme is specifically for parents from the African Caribbean Heritage Community (ACH) whose children may be experiencing emotional wellbeing or behavioural challenges at home or at school.

The 12 week programme focuses on topics such as:

  • de-escalation
  • parental presence
  • reconciliation gestures
  • understanding parent' trauma and child trauma.

The programme runs within City and Hackney over a 12 week period.

What is NVR?

  • NVR is an approach to helping parents and carers to develop strategies for managing children or young people’s destructive or violent behaviours whilst focusing on (re)-building the relationship with them. It also supports caring
