Learning for Children
Due to COVID -19, we are continuing to run our Saturday School online from July until it is safe for in-person education to resume back in class.
Online Saturday School is for children in Year 4 – Year 10, every Saturday between 10 am – 3.30 pm.

Adult learning
Sign up to attend in-person or online assessment.
Class will run every Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am -2pm.

Over the course of 14 weeks join us on a free accredited course that enables you to pick up invaluable English skills helping you operate confidently, effectively and independently in education, work and everyday life.
What are the benefits of the course? What work is involved in gaining the qualification?
This qualification contains one mandatory unit (comprising three components – Reading, Writing and Speaking, Listening and Communicating, all of which must be achieved at the same level).

- Develop an understanding of Functional Skills English at Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3
- develop their skills and competences in English

The first day time you'll join you will be assessed to ensure you're doing the right level.

FREE NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children & Young People Course
What will you learn?
This course is designed for new and existing childcare practitioners to gain the necessary skills to launch a career in Early Years. With a Cache Level 2 qualification, learners are much more employable and can go on to work in a rewarding Nursery Nurse role. With units ranging from safeguarding to child development, the course gives a broad knowledge of childcare and prepares learners to work in the childcare sector.

This is a free 12 weeks culturally approach course targeting African and Caribbean parents

13 week programme for parents from from African Caribbean Heritage Community (ACH)
About the programme ?
This programme is specifically for parents from the African Caribbean Heritage Community (ACH) whose children may be experiencing emotional wellbeing or behavioural challenges at home or at school.
The 12 week programme focuses on topics such as:
- de-escalation
- parental presence
- reconciliation gestures
- understanding parent' trauma and child trauma.
The programme runs within City and Hackney over a 12 week period.

Maths Functional Skills Entry 3 to Level 2
Improve your Maths skills over the course of 15 weeks and beyond
When are the classes?
E3 Class will run every Mondays 10am-2pm
L1 or 2 Class will run every Monday and Fridays from 10am -2pm

Free Accredited ICT Course (Entry 3 - Level 2)
Using ICT learn how to carry out straightforward tasks in a range of vocational contexts and gain a professional qualification pending successful completion of the course.

A free inclusive course to help parents and carers raise happy confident children all ages from babies to teens.
About the programme: This is a popular parenting programme for anyone raising children. We welcome parents and carers from all backgrounds who would like to work on their parenting skills and build positive relationships with their children.
DSFSC runs for three hours a week for 12 weeks. Some groups provide free childcare and refreshments. There is also an introductory session where you can find out more. Just come along, bring a friend or partner if you prefer, and see if it’s for you!

How do I join the course?
Due to COVID-19, the course is online. To register, please purchase a free ticket, and we will then enrol you onto the online learning classroom and inform you each week how to join the online class.
On what platform will the course be taught?
Microsoft teams details will be sent after registering for the course, where you'll be added to the course team and can access course material.

Family Learning Recycled Art is a free 4-week online creative course with practical tips for using recycled materials in art and craft projects. Have fun collecting recycled items. Explore how you can use waste to make tools and art materials. Learn new skills in different mixed media techniques.
Schedule
Week 1: How to prepare own collection of art resources from waste around the house. Recycling paper, fabric and plastic.
Week 2: How to make own stencils. Card-boxes, newspapers and polystyrene.
Week 3: How to use mixed media technique in your artwork. Collage.
Week 4: How to upcycle items. Decorations, toys and containers.
Additional Info
Sessions will be delivered via Microsoft Teams with additional support on WhatsApp. You will be asked to collect some paper and fabric scraps and you will need basic materials such as a pencil or pen, scissors and glue to start.
