ACS Online Saturday School

Due to COVID -19, we are continuing to run our Saturday School online from July until it is safe for in-person education to resume back in class. 

Online Saturday School is for children in Year 4 – Year 10, every Saturday between 10 am – 3.30 pm.

Talk About It Tuesday: My Well-being and Me

11 - 18-year-olds join us every Tuesday from 17th Nov - 15th Dec 2020 for our Talk About It Tuesday: My Wellbeing and Me an interactive online workshops covering wellbeing to mindfulness and relaxation.  Sign up by calling either ACS or First Steps on 02070147135 or email office@acschool.org.uk.

What is it?

A five-session online interactive workshop for teenagers aged 11 to 18 years old.
Our wellbeing affects how we think, feel and act. These workshops aim to give you a greater understanding of the mind and emotions, and to equip you with tools and strategies for mental health and wellbeing.

Want to improve your punctuation, spelling, sentence, writing and grammar skills?

Over the course of 14 weeks join us on a free accredited course that enables you to pick up invaluable English skills helping you operate confidently, effectively and independently in education, work and everyday life.

What are the benefits of the course? What work is involved in gaining the qualification?

This qualification contains one mandatory unit (comprising three components – Reading, Writing and Speaking, Listening and Communicating, all of which must be achieved at the same level).

give learners the opportunity to:

  • Develop an understanding of Functional Skills English at Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3
  • develop their skills and competences in English
  • achieve a nationally recognised qualification
  • prepare for employment
  • progress to further study.

Free NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children & Young People Course

Interested in launching a career in Childcare?

FREE NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children & Young People Online Course

 

every  Thursdays from 10 am to 2.00pm

start date: 22nd October 2020

We are also taking registration for face to face option of this course.

What will you learn?

This qualification will give learners a basic understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting. It will also help them to make an informed choice about working with children and young people. All the units are optional giving greater flexibility to learners and tutors when deciding on a programme of study – maximising learner achievement.

Progression & Career Paths

On completion of the Certificate learners can progress to the Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification. The Certificate also gives learners the opportunity to achieve two award-sized qualifications (Level 2 Award in Babysitting and Level 2 Award in Preparation for the Responsibilities of Parenting) on the way to completing the Certificate. This offers the opportunity to be certificated for three qualifications in total.

Microsoft Teams - will enable you to access the team's page to course material, ask questions and join meetings quickly all in one place (please note If you do not have a Microsoft account, you will be required to sign up).
